October 2023 Newsletter
As this month’s cover photo depicts, the autumn season baths the landscape with yellow, orange, red and brown colors. That and shorter daylight hours lead to the longer, cooler months ahead. Generally, fall is regarded as the end of the growing season but not for us model railroaders. After enjoying summertime activities over the past several months when our layouts fell dormant, autumn typically rejuvenates the “growing season” in our train rooms, garages, or outdoor railroad empires. Let the autumnal season begin!! Be certain to share your creations with us in the months ahead.

Member Travels
Recently Peggy and Larry Schneider visited their son
on Anderson Island in Washington state. While
there Larry and son Dave laid a 35 foot track extension to the "Apathy
Rails Line" whose motto is "Let indifference be your guide". Also, while there Larry met model railroader
Gary Smith. He has four scales set up: N,
HO, S, and G as well as some older Lionel equipment not yet operating. Some rail bike riding was also on the agenda at
Vance Creek Railriders near Shelton, WA. Peggy, Dave, Belen, and Larry peddled 13 miles
round trip, (2 hours) much of it downhill but power assisted on the return
trip. Click HERE
and scroll down to the October 2023 Update for photos of all their activities. For more information about
