Take a Train to Work Day

In response to Model Railroader Magazine's “Take a Train to Work Day” I’d like to share a photo I took in 1968 while visiting my mother’s home town of Camocim, Ceará, Brasil.

Camocim is in the northeast of Brasil and in the 40s and 50s was a major port for cargo ships. The train station was an extension for transporting the cargo throughout Brasil as well as passengers. My grandfather was the Station Master there for many years for the National train system. The station stands today and still operates light passenger service. Politics and silt moved the cargo ships to the south of Brasil in the 60s.
