2018 Business Meeting Minutes
The 2018 Color Country Model Railroad Club business
meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by president Dave Merrill. In attendance were club officers Al Thorne
(VP Lionel Group), Larry Schneider (VP G-Scale Group, Club Treasurer), M. David
Merrill (VP HO Group), Jim Harper (VP O-scale Group) and nine club members.
2017 Business Meeting Minutes were reviewed and
approved.
Financial Reporting:
Outgoing expenses for 2017 included building materials
for Jubilee of Trees layouts, rolling stock for the Veterans Train, Christmas
Party expenses, and flowers in memory of Chris Mauzy.
Paid membership increased from 29 to 33 in 2017.
Funding for individual group meeting expenses will
continue unless Club reserves drop to below $500.
Hobby Town* will be approached for sponsorship. As store personnel were unable to attend the
2018 business meeting, it was proposed they be invited to the Spring Barbecue
for introductions and further discussion.
2018 Club Organization: All officers will continue
their duties for 2018.
2018 CLUB ACTIVITIES:
Friday lunch location has changed.

Spring Barbecue:

Member Layout Tour:
November 9 through 12, 2018
Bob Mallory will check area community calendars for events which may conflict with these dates. If necessary, tour dates may change to maximize attendance.
Jubilee of Trees HO Layout Design and Construction:
Track plan, scenic design, construction timetable, and
volunteer assignments to be discussed/finalized at HO Group meeting on February
7, 2018.
Christmas Party:
Scheduled for December 4th or December 5th
Sky Mountain HOA Club House
Thomas Eckhardt to confirm the date.
CCMRRC Website:
Each month, the website will feature a member’s layout on
the main page and include new photos of his railroad in the Member Layouts
section. Chance Haworth video clips will
be included as well. Link to Hobby Town
will be added if appropriate.
Southern Utah Division – NMRA Facebook page:
David Merrill will determine how to transfer
administration to Lloyd Thomson.
Modeling Group Discussions:
G Scale – meetings: 3rd Friday of each month at
various G scale members' homes except July and August. For information, contact Larry Schneider
(435-688-1150).
HO Scale meetings: 1st Wednesday of each month
at M. David Merrill’s house at 6:00pm.
Lionel – Due to operational concerns, 2017 Jubilee of
Trees Lionel layout is being rebuilt. The
completed railroad will be displayed at Coral Desert Rehabilitation Center
beginning January 29th for approximately 1 week then return to the club house.
O Scale – As Jim Harper’s railroad nears completion, he indicated
his intention to host impromptu operating sessions after lunch on Fridays.
General Business
Operating Sessions:
Some members expressed interest in hosting operating sessions on
their railroads. A proposal was raised
to create an operating group within the Club.
Further discussion on the subject will continue at the Spring Barbecue.
NMRA Membership:
M. David Merrill suggested club members who have not yet
joined the NMRA, consider a special nine-month membership for $19.95 to review
the benefits. Flyers and the December
issue of NMRA magazine were circulated among the club members.
